Not The Creepy Kind of Candyman
![]() |

A few weekends ago, my hubster and I stumbled across this documentary. It was a mellow documentary, telling the tale of candy maker who wanted to make fancy jelly beans. His passion for candy and helping people trumped the corporate environment that he was tossed into. My hubster and I loved what an out-of-the-box thinker he is. He reminds me of one of my friends from middle school, mannerisms and all. It's worth a peek.

Falling In Like

Finally, I gave into all the hype and watched New Girl. I had to stop the Wedding episode five minutes in, so I can finish it with my hubster. It's hilarious. It's the kind of hilarious that makes you chuckle on the inside and out loud when it's totally ridiculous. Here are a few reasons, I have fallen in like with the show:
1. Jess is a teacher. They've worked in totally believable teacher dialogue like:
I’m a teacher so I’ll probably be bringing home a lot of popsicle sticks.
I have to get to school cause it's astronomy day and I'm dressing up as Galileo, so I have to put on my beard.
2. The reverse Mormon joke went perfectly with our marathoning of Sister Wives on Netflix.
3. My hubster loves the running Douchebag Jar joke.
4. Can't beat the classic comedic set up of one girl and two or more guys living together.

Old West

We watched a fabulous documentary about Wyatt Earp made by PBS. Of course, I had preconceptions about who Wyatt Earp was. Images of the rough and tumble cowboy comes to mind. I learned so much about Wyatt Earp and life in the boom towns. Wyatt Earp was such a tragic hero. His tale is filled with ambition, loyalty and revenge.

We get into our marathon modes rather frequently, especially since we use our Roku to stream video from Netflix. Our current obsession? Ice Road Truckers. Yes, truckers drive on a road made of ice in Alaska with ridiculously large heavy cargo. Love Jack Jesse for his humility and awesomeness. Think Lisa is crazy but she's one tough cookie. Have a strong dislike for the Polar Bear. Stoked that he got booted to the passenger seat during his first ride. The show would not be as entertaining without the terrifying background music and dramatic narrator.

Very Comfy

My new favorite show that's streaming on Netflix is Creature Comforts: America. It's so clever! They did a great job with the stop motion animation and thinking of animals to pair with the dialogue. Of all the critters, my favorite are the pigs from the south. Second place goes to the saggy faced dogs.Too bad the seals from California aren't a bit more interesting. I still can't believe that the dialogue is from real people that they interviewed.

A Real Piece of Work

The egos on the show were out of control. I've never seen so much obnoxious trash talking. I only stuck it out because I was intrigued about how they interpreted each of the challenges. The Children's Art Museum challenge was my favorite for obvious reasons. I really wish that Bravo would start showing some shows that don't use the Project Runway or Real Housewives templates.
