Taxis, Subways, & Cheap Eats Day 5

Onto Day 5, this day was supposed one of our more relaxed days. We planned on going to Union Square Market for some yummy breakfast snacks, spend time wandering Chinatown and Little Italy, have lunch, go to the Brooklyn Bridge, then head over to Brooklyn for dinner. Well, it ended up being another crazy day. Chinatown is huge. Apparently, there is a Broadway and E. Broadway. To make it even more confusing, they are very far apart. My feet ended up giving out, so we made a detour to Washington Square Park. Because of that detour, no Brooklyn Bridge. Tear.

The day was saved by our delicious meals. We had bowls of delicious noodles at Lan Zhou Handmade Noodle. The noodles are made to order right before your eyes. I've never had such delicious noodles. By the way, I recommend the dumpling noodle soup over the beef noodle soup. My hubster totally agrees. The dumplings are also made right in front of you. Filled to the brim with delicious pork goodness.

Later that evening, we ate at Pates et Traditions in Brooklyn. Carlos' sister had friends performing at the restaurant, so she invited us to join her and her mom. It was an adorable French bistro. The prices were a little much for the food. However, the ambiance and adorable French owner made it worthwhile. We also had delicious artisan ice cream from an ice cream truck. The Earl Grey tea ice cream was a little piece of ice cream heaven. If you haven't been able to tell yet, one of the highlights of the trip was all the a-mazing food we consumed. We're foodies in the making.
