Catch Up: Last Summer Beach Day

This summer has been pretty chilly, so we haven't made it to the beach as often as we wanted to go. On this last summer beach trip, there were lots of seaweed and kelp washed up along the shore. I found my first shark egg sacs ever. I was super excited! It definitely made up for not finding any sea glass. I can't wait for fall. It's actually my favorite beach time. It warms up a little and there are no crowds and very little tourists.

My friend Mark is in Rome celebrating his birthday. Fantastic, right? I've been sending him my Rome wishlist. For example, I told him that he has to eat gelato once a day for me. In return, he's posting these photos on my wall that are totally me:

Off-Road Scooting & Antiquing

I wanted a little adventure, so my hubster suggested trying a new scooter ride to a nearby town. We had to scoot on the little highway then take an extremely bumpy road that went through the foothills. We survived. I'm a bit worn out. The scenery was still breathtaking and wandering around the antique shops was interesting.

How I keep my inner light shining bright: 

Sleep. 
Laugh. 
Eat well. 
Take photos. 
Look for the beauty in others.

Listen to my favorite playlist every day.
Listen to the kiddos and their silly stories.
Smile (even when I don't feel like smiling).
Make time to search out things that keep me inspired. 
Acknowledge my daily accomplishments (even if they're small). 
Say to myself: "You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars. You have a right to be here."
