He's a Charmer

I swear my hubster has become increasingly charming over time. He's like a fine cheese minus the mold. (The wine analogy doesn't work for us since we don't drink.) I bit jealous of his ease with others and his willingness to say whatever he wants. Perhaps, it'll rub off on me?

(As we pay for our goods at our favorite market.)

Hubster: Did you get the lettuce?
Cashier: Nope. Thanks for letting me know.
Hubster: Yup. I saw it go down the line but not up.
Cashier: Good eye.
Hubster: I know. That's how I got her.
All: (chuckles)

Once Upon a Time, I Dreamt a Dream

I'm a dreamer. There's no other way around it. Luckily, I have a hubster who is very good at humoring my dreams. My dreams often take me to faraway places like Arles. Arles is located in Southern France. Many artists, including one of my favs Vincent Van Gogh, have resided and been inspired by Arles. It has officially gone on the travel list in my mind. Perhaps, we'll be able to include when we make our way down to Provence and Avignon.

Another Tradition

A few years ago, we went to our first Weaselfest. Now, it's become an annual tradition. Next year's Weaselfest should be even more fun because my hubster just received his first weasel. Yay! He gets to be a participant rather than just a spectator. What's a weasel? It's an awesome RC glider that our friend Michael makes. His company is called Dream-Flight. His site is definitely worth a peek even if you're not into RC stuff.

GQ Foodlust

I love GQ. So many of its articles are so interesting. My hubster has also become a fan. His style has improved quite a bit since he's begun flipping through its pages. In addition to fashion and politics, GQ has lots in it about food and travel. The photos below are positively drool worthy. Enjoy but pardon the imperfect scanned pages.

One of Those Weeks

It's been one of those weeks. I'm in a bit of funk. A bit of grouch. A bit of a recluse. Instead of rounding out the week with some gripes, here are some of my favorite things.
  • Looking at the green hills from our bedroom window.
  • Listening to the rhythm of my hubster's heartbeat as I'm napping.
  • Feeling cold bubbly ocean water between my toesies.
  • Hearing the kiddos say my name over and over and then listening to the oh-so-exciting news.
  • Taking candid photos of friends.
  • Underlining my favorite quotations in books.
Happy Friday!

Old School

*With my Uncle Frankie

After seeing the DianaF+ camera in a camera store downtown, I knew I wanted it. I just wasn't sure if it would be worth it. I already have my Rebel and my Pentax. Really, did I need another camera? Sure, I wanted it. Then, I saw the beautiful photos on the Diana photostream on Flickr and became hooked. I'm all giddy that I get to buy film again. Yes, I know it's the camera nerd inside me that is the source of all that excitement. I'm ready to take some dreamy pictures.

When I went home for Easter, I asked my mom to look for the photos with me playing with a camera. Since she has awesome detective skills and plenty of time, she managed to find it for me. My hubster saw it then said, "See, I don't even have to get you the other one for your birthday. Just ask your mom where this camera is." That's my frugalisto.
